Tips and Advice
The average employer spends only a few seconds looking at a resume upon first glance. They are tasked with sorting through dozens if not hundreds of resumes for one position. Many times the employers use a process of elimination; by which they eliminate the resumes that do not meet their criteria or impress them from their initial viewing. There is no room for anything but a perfected, well thought out document that gives insight into who you are and what attributes you can bring to their company. In this day and age the job market is extremely competitive; you must have a resume that will stand out amongst the crowd.
Your resume is often the only way to highlight your professional and educational background to the employer. First impressions are of the utmost importance. If your resume does not emit the right impression to the employer, you will have no chance at getting an interview.
